FMCSA authority check for trucking vendors. Vet looks the carrier up by USDOT number and writes Authority Status, Safety Rating, and Last Vetted — the Vetting Flag column is Airtable's own pre-dispatch verdict. COI details are entered by hand from the certificate, never here.

Source: FMCSA's official QCMobile API. A carrier is written ACTIVE only when FMCSA itself says it is allowed to operate — anything else is NOT AUTHORIZED. If the lookup fails or the answer is unreadable it refuses and writes nothing, rather than guessing. Flags go ⚠️ STALE after 90 days — re-vet before booking a load.
